There were smiles and celebrations at Ormiston Horizon Academy as students collected their GCSE results, the culmination of two years of determination and hard work.
The academy has seen its Year 11 students achieve across the board and securing exciting next steps in further education and training.
The Year 11 cohort achieved particularly highly in a range of subjects including biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, dance, and health and social care.
While there are celebrations across the academy, some standout successes include:
- Emily Elkin who successfully achieved grade 9s in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics and grade 8s in history, Spanish and statistics
- Kobe Vickers, one of the academy’s most hard working and determined students, achieved a grade 7 in history and a grade 6 in English language and literature
- Jack Fleet who obtained a grade 9 in statistics, mathematics and chemistry and a grade 8 in biology and physics
- The wonderfully talented Macey Ford who contributed significantly to Horizon’s performing arts productions over her time at the academy achieved a grade 8 in mathematics and a grade 7 in English language, English literature and geography
Ormiston Horizon Academy continues to be a place where ambition, support and opportunity go hand in hand. As part of Ormiston, the academy is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, gains the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
Andy Fitzgibbon, Principal at Ormiston Horizon Academy, said: “We’re so proud of our students, they’ve put in so much effort and it’s fantastic to see that hard work pay off. Today’s results show just how determined they’ve been, supported every step of the way by our amazing staff team. I very much look forward to seeing what they go on to achieve next.”
