The sky’s the limit for Cowes Enterprise College students this results day 

Celebrations are in order for students at Cowes Enterprise College as they collect an exceptional set of post-16 results.  

Students and staff at the academy have come together in celebration of a brilliant set of A-level results which have secured top university spots and high-quality job offers, alongside a prestigious place on the Royal Navy apprenticeship scheme, reflective of the academy’s award-winning maritime studies roots. 

The results follow two years of hard work and dedication, with standout student successes including:  

  • Alfie Glover has achieved A*s in chemistry, maths and physics, in addition to an A in further maths.  Alfie has secured a place at The University of Cambridge to study engineering.
  • Isabella Fawcett achieved As in psychology, biology, chemistry and has secured a place at University College London to study Medicine. 
  • Blake Poerscout-Edgerton achieved A*s in Spanish, English literature and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), and A in maths, securing a scholarship at Emory University in Atlanta, USA. 
  • Jess Blackwell was awarded A*s in biology, chemistry and maths, and will be going on to the University of Bristol to study neuroscience.   
  • Emily Tickner obtained A*s in geography and English language, an A in biology and a B in art, winning a place at Exeter University to study English and Modern Languages with an international placement.  
  • Reilly Bristow achieved Cs in business and sociology, and has secured an place at Kent University to study Law.
  • Scarlett Tuckey achieved an A in sociology and Bs in philosophy and English literature. Scarlett has secured an apprenticeship with the Royal Navy. 

This year, the academy saw particular success with its Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) course, which develops the research skills and academic rigour which is sought after by top universities and for degree-level apprenticeships.
